Eat?:African Painted Dogs hunt in formidable, packs of cooperation from 6 to 20 (or more) of the animals. Larger packs were more common before the dogs became endangered. Pack hunting antelopes and will also tackle much larger prey, such as wildebeests, particularly if the prey is ill or injured. The dogs supplement their diet with rodents and birds. As human settlements expand, the dogs have sometimes developed a taste for livestock, though significant damage is rare. Unfortunately, they are often hunted and killed by farmers who fear for their pets.
Temperature|Health Problems: African hunting dogs are in danger. They are faced with shrinking room to roam in their African home. They are also very susceptible to diseases transmitted by pets.

Officials of the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium confirmed this november that a little boy was mauled to death today after falling into the African painted dog exhibit.
The incident occurred at 11:48 a.m. at the Highland Park complex, according to emergency dispatch supervisor.
A Pittsburgh police officer shot and killed one of the 11 dogs in the exhibit.Zoo President and Chief Executive Officer Barbara Baker said the child, who was about 3 years old, was on an outing with his mother when he fell over a railing and off of a mesh barrier where the painted dogs were on display.
